Background

I have been very fortunate in being able to travel to study.

I have had two visits to China, noteably the Shanghai Museum, two visits to the National Palace Museum in Taipeh, I have spent about six months [on various occasions] in Japan where I have both worked with Japanese potters and seen the masterpieces in the national collections and had two successful exhibitions.

Visits to the Victoria and Albert Museum, and most importantly, visits to The Percival David Collection at the School of Asian Arts, London University, where Ms Rosemary Scott, the Director of Museums, was very kind, opening the cases for me to see and handle their treasures. Dr Oliver Impey at the Ashmolean Museum in Oxford has also been very helpfull in this respect.

My visit there coincided with an exhibition 'Iron in the Fire ' which exactly reflects my interests.
